Our Locations
Our anti-displacement interventions must work for our residents, our community, and our donors.
At Pahali Community Land Trust, we create innovative housing strategies that work for our residents. We recognize that each resident's circumstances may differ, so we offer a range of tailored solutions.
Programs:
Affordable Homeownership within the CLT:
We help residents who can afford to purchase their homes at a price they can afford. They buy the house; we buy the land. By placing the land in the Community Land Trust, we ensure long-term affordability. For those who qualify, this option offers an empowered sense of ownership and stability.
Cooperative Housing:
Recognizing that some residents may prefer a cooperative living situation, or may not have the financial means to buy a home solo, we transform a property into a cooperative. Through this approach, residents have the opportunity to become co-op members and co-owners by purchasing shares, renting the house from the cooperative, and fostering a strong sense of community and collective decision-making.
Tenants at Risk:
We understand that not all residents may feel inclined to join a cooperative. Therefore, we also offer the option for individuals to remain as tenants of CLT-owned homes while paying affordable rent. This arrangement not only helps residents maintain their current living arrangements but may also provide them with the possibility of owning the house in the future. By gradually building equity and financial stability, tenants can transition into homeownership at a later stage if they desire.
